About Us

Green Up Cleveland’s mission is to eradicate litter and loose trash from the city of Cleveland through citizen action in order to increase pride in our city, improve living conditions for all Clevelanders, and strengthen and beautify Cleveland neighborhoods.

In 2015 and 2016, Green Up Cleveland chose flagship neighborhoods through a competitive application process.  In fun, festive, community-building events in the Stockyards and Northeast Shores (Collinwood) neighborhoods, hundreds of volunteers collected tons (literally!) of trash.

This year, Green Up Cleveland will work with the Westown neighborhood on May 20, 2017 to clean up litter around the Variety Theater on Lorain Avenue, a historic vaudeville theater beginning a massive $15 million mixed-use restoration and renovation to return it to the neighborhood anchor it once was. Please sign up today to join us on May 20!

It’s a matter of pride. It’s our city.  Green up, Cleveland.
